Hello and welcome to Link to Leeds!

My name is Natthida, and I’m from Thailand. I am currently pursuing the MBA at the University of Leeds. Before coming to Leeds, I worked in strategy consulting for over four years in Bangkok. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, majoring in Finance, from Mahidol University International College (MUIC) in Thailand.
After a few years in the professional world, I felt it was time to step out of my comfort zone, rediscover myself, and reflect on the future direction of my career. That’s when I decided to pursue an MBA, and Leeds stood out to me because of its triple accreditation, strong business school ranking, state-of-the-art facilities, focus on employability, and vibrant campus and city life.

Coming to study abroad as an international student can feel daunting at first, but Leeds has truly welcomed me with open arms.

The city fascinates me – I love how the old English architecture blends beautifully with modern touches. Leeds is also a walkable city, where you can get from the University campus to the city centre in just 10-15 minutes, and explore different parks and green spaces nearby as well. Leeds really offers the best of both worlds. I particularly enjoy walking along Leeds Dock, with its riverside views and lively restaurants, or visiting Kirkgate Market, which has fresh produce and local and international street foods.

Additionally, Leeds is a multicultural city, offering a wide variety of international cuisines. My current favourites are Thai Aroy Dee for a comforting Phad Kaphrao Moo (Holy Basil Pork Stir Fry) and Fern Modern Sushi for delicious sushi and sashimi. Travelling within Leeds is simple, with the clear bus routes and student-friendly transport options, and it is also very easy to venture out to nearby cities like York or Manchester for a quick weekend getaway.

The University of Leeds itself has so much to offer. Most of the time, you’ll find me in the MBA suite (exclusive to MBA students and alumni), the Leeds University Union (LUU)—where there’s always something happening and plenty of great food options—or in one of the campus libraries. The University has four main libraries, each offering its own atmosphere and facilities, with plenty of perfect study spots. While I’m usually in the Edward Boyle Library, my favourite is the Brotherton Library in the Parkinson Building, for its beautiful traditional interior. Between classes, my friends and I love taking short walks around Woodhouse Moor to relax and recharge.

Within the MBA programme, there are plenty of opportunities for professional growth. We have Career Farm sessions, where career experts coach us on employability, CV-building, networking, and interview preparation. These sessions have been incredibly valuable in helping me identify my strengths and goals post-graduation. We also attend Masterclasses, where professionals—including C-Suite executives from different industries—share their experiences and insights, inspiring us to excel and advance in our own careers.

One of the things I appreciate most about the University is the wide variety of societies available – whether for personal interests, social activities, or professional growth. I’ve joined several, including the Sikh Society and the Consulting Society, which have given me opportunities to connect with people from diverse backgrounds and share experiences that have enhanced my time here.

 All the societies help create a real sense of community, allowing you to build friendships and make memories beyond the classroom.

Outside of my studies, I’m also a Student Sustainability Architect, supporting projects that contribute to the University’s sustainability goals and engaging the student community around climate awareness. Both roles give me valuable UK work experience while also giving back to the University community.

In my free time, I enjoy exploring new restaurants around Leeds, cooking and trying out new recipes, and spending time with my friends. I also love travelling around the UK whenever I can.
