Hi! My name is Nguyễn Thiện Mỹ from Vietnam. You can call me Mia 😊 I'm pursuing a MSc in Business Analytics and Decision Sciences.

Before coming here, I spent 6 years living in Taiwan. I got the Taiwan Ministry of Education's Scholarship to pursue my Bachelor's degree in International Business and Trade at Ming Chuan University in Taiwan. After graduation, I develop my professional skills by working in market expansion across Southeast Asia for a tech startup in Taipei. Through working, I realized the importance of data in decision making and I want to further sharpen my problem-solving mindset. This has led me to pursue a Master's degree in Business Analytics.

The Business Analytics program here has the flexibility of optional modules, so I can choose ones that are helpful for my career directory.

When researching for the most suitable Masters program, I took into account the school ranking, course modules, and scholarship opportunities. University of Leeds is a prestigious school in the Russell Group, ranked 82nd in the world. The Business Analytics program here has the flexibility of optional modules, so I can choose ones that are helpful for my career directory. From this, the University of Leeds was my dream school, and I'm proud to say that have successfully achieved this because of the International Excellence Scholarship from the Leeds University Business School.

The University's outstanding reputation makes it the 4th most targeted UK university by graduate recruiters (High Fliers Report, 2024). I experienced this strong industry connection first-hand during my first month through career fairs, newsletters, JobLink, MyCareer platform, and various social media channels. The dedicated Careers Centre provides comprehensive support, from CV writing to application guidance and career counselling.

As a future University of Leeds graduate, I'm confident that graduating from the University of Leeds will give me a competitive edge in the job market.

My journey so far at the University of Leeds has been better than I could ever ask for. At the heart of campus life is our Leeds University Union (LUU), which houses everything from cosy cafes and restaurants to convenient shops and social spaces. With over 300 societies to choose from, there's a perfect fit for every interest and passion - whether you're into sports, arts, culture, or academic pursuits. The school has a dedicated Welcome Team that keeps your social schedule busy and helps you ease into your new life in Leeds. These personal touches have made my transition into university life remarkably smooth and enjoyable.

I've discovered my own favourite spots across campus, particularly among the four libraries that each offer their own unique study atmosphere. The Edward Boyle Library has become my preferred destination, thanks to its dedicated postgraduate floor. Looking ahead, I'm particularly intrigued by the opportunity to travel to Antwerp, Belgium next year with my business school. While selection isn't guaranteed, I'm hopeful about the possibility of joining this study tour as it’s a rare opportunity to be in Europe.

Leeds offers a fantastic balance of academic life and fun.

I currently live in a student accommodation located 15 minutes from Business School and 10 minutes to the city centre. Millennium Square is my favuorite spot in Leeds. It's a popular event venue and a great place to hang out. As a student, Leeds offers a fantastic balance of academic life and fun. With its lively nightlife and beautiful parks, there's always something to do.

My experience in Leeds has been overwhelmingly positive, and I am eager to share more about it. If you would like to chat with me about anything, please feel free to contact me through my Unibuddy or my email mia-link@leeds.ac.uk I'm more than happy to help!
