Hey everyone! My name is Melon and I'm from China. I'm a masters student currently studying Culture, Creativity and Entrepreneurship.

I completed my undergraduate studies in Film and Television Production at Communication University of China, Nanjing. Then, I applied and was admitted to the University of Leeds to pursue my master's degree.

The reason I chose the University of Leeds is that it has a great atmosphere for culture and media. In my current course of study, the professors unconditionally support us, allowing us to research any direction in the creative cultural industry that interests us! They also combine cultural theory with the business market, which excites me because each class is like a creative conversation.

The professors at the University of Leeds don't just impart knowledge; they also encourage you to question, to cross boundaries, and to think in new ways. This encouragement makes me brave to make mistakes and truly grow from them. Additionally, our courses are divided into different interest groups, independent of the course groups. You can choose to join based on your interests and gain more opportunities to communicate and collaborate with others. Therefore, here, you can find your own pace, whether in study or life.

Besides, every teacher in the school will offer you some help with your work, internships, and daily life. They will summarize some on-campus internship opportunities and introduce you to the relevant platforms. They may even recommend you specific career opportunities. For example, it was under the encouragement and support of the teachers that I applied for the student ambassador role and was successful.

Now, in addition to being a student ambassador, I have also been elected as the representative of the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Cultures and the course representative of my major, which makes me very excited! I have the confidence to do all of this, face more challenges, and seize more opportunities.

Leeds is an open, inclusive, and vibrant city. On campus, the steps of Parkinson Building and the public areas of Leeds University Union are my favorite places to go during breaks. Here, you can see students from all over the world and various majors gathering, chatting, having lunch, or discussing group assignments. In such an atmosphere, it's easy to feel the unique vitality and vigour of the University of Leeds!

Outside the campus, my favourite place is the city centre pedestrian street because there are often many performance artists there, giving perfect performances. This makes me very happy every time I go shopping in the city centre and can enjoy such things!

I currently live in private student accommodation outside the campus. I like it because it often provides various apartment activities, enriching my life beyond studying! In my daily life, I really enjoy chatting with people, and I relish the process of interaction. Besides, I love traveling, singing, organizing creative activities, and participating in projects and events that interest me. I also like to record my life through my own media channel, writing diaries, and other means.
