Being Part of a Society - HiTECH Society

HiTECH Innovation Society was founded in 2015 and rooted in the University of Leeds. The Leeds-centered Yorkshire region has the UK’s most innovative technology industry cluster. For multiple years, Leeds has been regarded as the city with the greatest entrepreneurial spirit in the UK. The society gathers talents from prestigious Universities throughout the UK with the aim of connecting and bridging Sino-British scholars and entrepreneurs. It is committed to creating the best resource sharing platform for Sino-British students, entrepreneurs and innovators. The society regularly organises a variety of events to promote intercommunication and cross cultural communication. Events include offline discussions, lectures on topical subjects, business competitions and mock project plans.

HiCHAT & HiFILM

Academic socials are forums based on currently trending business and technological topics in China and Internationally (HiCHAT) or technological films (HiFILM). These forums are held regularly, in which relevant researchers or students lead participants to review various aspects of the business and technological trends through discussions, group activities and games in a social and easy-going atmosphere.

HiTALK

Researchers, entrepreneurs and industry professionals are invited as guest speakers to introduce an emerging industry or technology, its background, its opportunities and its future to our students. The forum takes the form of a rotation of guest speakers, followed by a panel discussion to promote deep exchanges between the audience and the experts.

Company Tours and Career Opportunities

HiTECH Innovation Society has a wealth of mentors in business and technology throughout the UK, who encourage and call upon the society members to take part in a variety of business and technology competitions. As a resource-sharing platform for businesses in the UK and China, society can pool opportunities of incubation, technology transformation and finance for small and medium-sized enterprises and student teams.

Outdoor Social

‘Work hard, play hard’ has always been the key to maintaining our society’s vitality. The association regularly organizes a wide variety of social group activities: from small-scale cross-cultural parties to large-scale mountaineering camping. HiTECH Innovation Society is not only a platform for exchange and mutual support, but also a home away from home for many of our international members.
