Hello, I'm Tanpreet.

I wanted to pursue my undergraduate degree in the UK due the high level of holistic education and global exposure the country is well known for. And what better than the Leeds University Business school which is famous for its world class ranking, architecture, and facilities. I attended the IDP India events while looking for Universities to apply in UK and was instantly attracted by the variety of courses the University of Leeds offered.

My experience at Leeds has been amazing so far. Even though a part of my first year's studies was conducted online due to the pandemic, the staff and services at the university were extremely supportive throughout, offering assistance at every step. My professors readily answered all my emails when I was having difficulty in adjusting to the different teaching and assignment pattern in the first year.

I really enjoy working at the Brotherton library or sitting in the Esther Simpson building and having a cup of warm coffee between lectures on a busy day.

One of the best things about my course, Business Management, is that I get both a broad perspective about the corporate world as well as a deeper knowledge and understanding of subjects of my choice like marketing, HR, retail, and supply chain management. Another perk is that I get the opportunity to apply for a placement year, where I can get the experience of the real world of employment and enhance my knowledge for when I choose a graduate career.

In my second year, I have had a chance to explore the campus and the city much more. Exploring the various study spaces and libraries on campus must be among my favorite things to do. I really enjoy working at the Brotherton library or sitting in the Esther Simpson building and having a cup of warm coffee between lectures on a busy day. The Leeds University Union has more than 300 societies, which gives everyone a chance to participate in what they love.

The city of Leeds has loads to offer, from being famous for its nightlife to the blend of multicultural activities to classical architecture.  My leisure activities include walking around the scenic parks, reading, participating in events held by the societies at the Leeds University Union and brunch with friends at the local cafes like LS6 and Bakery 164. During the weekends, I like to explore the city with my friends trying world cuisines like the Polish and Turkish bakeries at the Kirkstall market or going to one of the many wonderful Indian restaurants when I miss home.

I lived at the Montague Burton halls for the first year. One of the many reasons that I enjoyed living there was the comfortable and spacious flats. The residence life team was highly supportive during the pandemic, and organized various online activities like movie nights, flat games, and pizza parties, which guaranteed some fun and relaxing social time during the lockdowns. I applied for a private housing during the second year with the help of Unipol, who were quite cooperative during the entire house hunting process.
