BSc International Business and Finance

Hi there, my name is Lily, and I am a second year student at the University of Leeds majoring in BSc International Business and Finance. I previously stayed in Hanoi, the Vietnamese capital, before moving to Leeds. I finished my foundational courses in Business Law and Social Study in the Leeds International Study Centre in Headingly, Leeds, before this.

The school has a prestigious reputation that is well-known worldwide in the field of business education. Its dedication to academic achievement is seen by the excellent rankings it has received. Aside from its long history of business education, the university has a strong reputation for its Business School and is ranked highly in Finance (top 5 in the UK, according to The Complete University Guide 2022). University of Leeds is also well-known for its multicultural campus which attracts students from more than 130 countries and this can better equip me for working in a global environment.

The choice I made was strongly influenced greatly by the outstanding Careers Centre at the University of Leeds. They demonstrate their constant dedication to students' professional growth through personalised assistance, training, and networking opportunities. The broad alumni network and collaborations with industry leaders promise invaluable connections and potential opportunities post-graduation. I feel more confident in my decision knowing that I'll have committed help in exploring career chances. Besides, as some research I did before applying to the University, our University has ranked Top 5 targeted university in the UK for graduate employers. Leeds is the top option for my studies in Finance and Business since it does not only deliver an outstanding educational experience, but also gives me the professional skills and experience that I need to succeed in my future career prospect. Additionally, our University also offers careers opportunities themselves for students, alumnae and graduates.

Leeds' vibrant and diverse student community encourages a stimulating learning environment. I will surely broaden my perspective and improve my global mindset by interacting with peers from other origins and cultures, which is essential in today's globally linked environment. By far, I really appreciate the student experience I have been through the last year when engaging with a truly international university with students coming from over 130 countries. Our Leeds University Union also has 300+ clubs and societies for students to get involved.

I currently stay in a privately rented flat in Kelso Road, Woodhouse. The best part of living here, compared to my other accommodations, is that it is located right next to the Business School giving that I can go to Leeds University's Business School in 3-5 minutes. With only a short distance from the centre of Leeds, I truly appreciate the convenience of being able to live in such a popular place for students attending the Universities.

It's been fascinating to see how Leeds has developed and how many new eateries have sprung up since I've been here. I've so far truly appreciated the time I spent in Leeds, whether it is the university experience, visiting the UK, seeing the city, or studying in Business School. I hope that my time studying in the University of Leeds will give me a diverse perspective for responding to your concerns. Please do get in touch with me if you have any questions, I would be delighted to hear from you so feel free to contact me via Unibuddy or email at
