Aws Kamoona

Hey, my name is Aws Kamoona. I am currently in the first year of the Dental Surgery MChD/BChD at the University of Leeds. I was born in Iraq; however, I came to Leeds following the completion of my international A-level program in ABQ Seeb International in Oman in 2022.

I decided on the University of Leeds due to its highly accredited academic reputation, impressive facilities, and vibrant student life. The quality of teaching and academic resources provided has enabled me to comfortably excel within my course. My favourite part about my course is the combination of theoretical and practical sessions, in addition to seminars to keep you involved throughout the duration of the course.

The University of Leeds has provided me with a range of professional development opportunities. I have attended industry conferences and seminars held by the university, where I had the chance to connect with leading professionals in the dental field and gain insights into emerging trends and practices.

Leeds is a vibrant city, with plenty of activities and events to keep you engaged throughout your stay. I lived in White Rose View, placing me in the city centre where I was able to visit various plenty Museums, Arcades, Training facilities, and amenity shops in my free time. I have also visited central village and James Baillie Park on multiple occasions.

As my first year is coming to an end, I can confidently say that I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at the University of Leeds. The combination of academic excellence, vibrant city, and numerous opportunities for personal growth has made my university experience truly fulfilling. I look forward to what is to come in my future years!
